It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Bettie Garrett.  Bettie has been a valued member of this community and will be greatly missed. 

As many of you know, Bettie Garrett has a scholarship award given in her name every year to one of our scholarship recipients. This year THE SEDCC College Scholarship Fund awarded thirteen (13) $1,000 scholarships to full-time students from southeast Dallas attending any 2-year, 4-year college, university, or career/technical/trade school in the fall.  In speaking with Bettie's family - In lieu of flowers, They would like you to make a donation to the SEDCC scholarship fund in Bettie's name.

Bettie Jane Garrett

MAY 26, 1936 – OCTOBER 13, 2021

Bettie Jane Garrett, age 85, of Dallas, Texas passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021. Bettie was born May 26, 1936.

A visitation for Bettie will be held Friday, October 22, 2021 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Lakepointe Church - White Rock, 9150 Garland Rd, Dallas, TX 75218. A funeral service will occur Friday, October 22, 2021 from 10:45 AM to 12:00 PM, 9150 Garland Rd, Dallas, TX 75218. A family reception will occur Friday, October 22, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 9150 Garland Rd, Dallas, TX 75218. A graveside service will occur Friday, October 22, 2021 from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM at Miller Grove Cemetery, 7819 FM 275, Cumby, TX 75433. Face masks will be required and will be provided if needed.
